Potential  changes between points on a two dimensional surface are often represented by equipotential contour lines. Drag the negative 1 uC test charge shown as a red disk inside the animation and observe how the velocity vector changes when you release the mouse.  

  1. Rank the potentials at the points A, B, and C from lowest to highest for each simulation.
  2. Assume the charged particle has a mass of 1 gram.  What is the potential difference between points A and C for each simulation?

Note:  Make sure the animation has started and that the simulation time is advancing as you drag and release the charge.
