Presentation
I'm a research staff member of the PRHLT group at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). I have two undergraduate degrees —Industrial Design (2001) and Industrial Engineering (2005)— and an M.Sc. in Communications and Mobile Services Development (2006) from the UPV. I got a PhD (with honors & international mention) in Computer Science in 2012.

I've been developing a number of computer assisted tools with other PRHLT researchers while working in the MIPRCV project (part of the Consolider programme, which hosted excellent research groups according to Nature). Recently I visited the DFKI institute in Saarbrücken, from Dec'11 to Mar'12. Currently I'm working in the CasMaCat project (European Commission FP7, ICT-2011.4.2).
Teaching
From 2007 to 2010 I taught (near 20 hours per semester) the module Multimedia & Graphical Interfaces, part of the subject Application development tools, at the UPV Master entitled 'Communications and Mobile Services Development'. See the student's corner (in Spanish).
Research

research interests

I'm interested in a diverse range of topics related to the Web (technologies, theories, applications, etc.), Intelligent User Interfaces, Human-Computer Interaction, and Pattern Recognition. My PhD thesis is about implicit interaction in HCI. At present I'm doing some research on mouse tracking, image retrieval, unsupervised clustering, and adaptive UIs. Nevertheless, I'm open to collaborations in other fields. If you're interested, do not hesitate to contact me.

scholarship & professional activities

I'm a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) since 2011 and the Asociación Española de Reconocimiento de Formas y Análisis de Imágenes (AERFAI) since 2009.
I'm a regular reviewer for CHI, UIST, IUI, MobileHCI and ICMI since 2011. I also review occasionally for InfoVis, EICS and DIS. For some of these conferences I've been involved with the organization committee.
