Abstract:
Web applications and sites are designed to use keyboard and mouse as input devices and a medium resolution screen as output device. Mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, have enough computation power to render Web pages, allowing browsing the Internet. But, their main interaction style is touching style that was not usually considered in the Web applications design. Changing the platform or interaction style can lead to interaction problems. To study these problems, we investigated the use of TelEduc, an e-Learning environment designed to Internet and to be used with keyboard and mouse, in two touchscreen devices, a smartphone and a tablet. Some problems are usability problems and do not have relation with the platform or modality, but other problems are related to the platform or modality changing.
