Abstract:
Transform Domain Communication System (TDCS) is a cognitive-radio technology that avoids frequency underutilization by doing spectrum-scavenging. Although TDCSs' is well-known when dealing with interferers, theoretical limits of TDCS in terms of spectrum efficiency remain unknown. Based on the TDCS' multidimensional property, we detail them in terms of spectrum efficiency and Bit Error Rate (BER). It is shown that most of previous TDCSs had suboptimal performances. Guidelines are given to improve these metrics without much increase in system's complexity.
