Abstract:
Content streaming delivery has been recently considered as an attractive solution for media distribution, based on light architectures, working on top of the current Internet Protocol (IP) technologies. Such a system is considered here, integrating functionalities such as content server initial selection based on multi-criteria algorithm and then media adaptation (using dynamic adaptive streaming) and/or server switching - during the media session. This work-in-progress contributes to identify the main design concepts for the Control Plane of the architecture and in particular for the monitoring of Quality of Services (QoS) and Quality and Experience (QoE), aiming to support both the server selection and in–session adaptation actions.
