Abstract:
Remote vehicle diagnostics within the auto industry will soon become a reality. Currently, all maintenance work including diagnostics is being performed by dealership. With the new setting of remote vehicle diagnostics, manufacturers will take the lead in the diagnostics process to improve their products and customer satisfaction. This paper proposes a high-level architecture for the remote diagnosis of vehicle defects. It then sets the ground for securing such an architecture due to the fact that safety and privacy of drivers and passengers are extremely challenging with the manifestation of security breaches.
