Abstract:
Business process models are often crucial for business software development. Using reference models or merged processes, software producers intend to optimize the development effort for enterprises of the same domain. Thus, it is important to know how to assess the similarity between the process and the reference or merged process model to assess the effort needed for their adaption. This paper uses networkbased business process analysis approach to quantitatively assess process similarity based on information structure of the business process model. Application of the approach as well as metrics used for similarity assessment is presented using a case study from the health management domain.
