Abstract:
This paper investigates the call-level traffic capacity for cognitive secondary VoIP users in a system with primary VoIP users. The system is modeled as a serving system with preemptive priority of primary calls over secondary calls. An analytical approach is developed to evaluate the VoIP service capacity and the quality of service provisioning for the secondary users, namely the call blocking and dropping probabilities. Methods for call dropping probability regulation are proposed. A novel analytical approach for approximate evaluation of the effect of limitation is developed and validated by simulation experiments.
