Abstract:
The aim of social computing is to analyse the concept of social nature and design digital systems that share information between machines and users. The insights given by social computing can be applied to easily construct creative systems. As a case study, this paper presents a social machine implemented as a virtual organization where humans and machines collaborate in a creative process to transform a picture into a musical sound cloud. The prototype built from this model is evaluated by experts who rate the sounds produced following tonal music criteria.
