Abstract:
The Internet technologies need an overhaul to support next-generation of applications requiring communications between machines and humans. This paper is a survey of the state of current internetworking architecture and its engineering properties. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the aging of original design goals and motivations. We aim to formulate a new set of guidelines that maybe used to postulate design principles of the new network architectures.
