Integrating Cybersecurity and Digital Marketing Effectiveness: Developing a cohesive framework for SME resilience

Abstract:
As Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) adopt digital marketing strategies to drive market growth, they face heightened exposure to cybersecurity threats. Through a qualitative methodology involving semi-structured interviews with SMEs in Scotland, the study identifies key themes including digital maturity, cybersecurity awareness, user trust, industry-specific challenges, and implementation barriers. Findings reveal a significant gap between cybersecurity awareness and practical implementation. The study proposes a model to guide SMEs in embedding cybersecurity into their marketing, thereby enhancing their resilience.
