Trusting the Data Analytics Process from the Perspective of Different Stakeholders

Abstract:
The paper at hand shows different aspects of the concept of trust. Using the Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) phase model we stress the information asymmetry of the typical stakeholders in a data mining project. Based on the identified influencing factors in relation to trust, problematic aspects of the current approach are verified. We executed various interviews with the stakeholders and the results of the interviews confirm the theoretically identified weak points of the phase model with regard to trust. Based on the finding we sketch amendments and future research areas.
