Abstract:
The ubiquity of data, services and computing devices demands a higher level of understanding of their real nature if one wants to create value-added services based on them. The human brain can understand the concepts behind these artifacts and find appropriate conceptual links easily, however, by applying semantic technologies (ontologies, concept mapping, inferencing, etc.) computer programs can also be taught to behave similarly. Semantic solutions based on these technologies can lead to powerful value-added services for various domains. A generic domain that can be addressed successfully with the help of these technologies is systems integration. In this paper we introduce a generic implementation model that was developed to serve as a basis of integration solutions in various real-life projects.
