Abstract:
This paper investigates two aspects of the QoS offered by some cloud providers on the Internet, the availability and the dedicated capacity in terms of how well a user process is isolated from other users of the same application server instance. By using standard components and software utilities, a small external measurement client is able to gather the necessary information about the cloud application servers in question, and hence, addresses the measured availability and capacity over time. In summary, I show that the biggest cloud providers indeed demonstrate good isolation and availability.
