Abstract:
Resilience is an ability of a system to deliver trustworthy services despite changes. It is a much sought after property in a wide range of applications. However, currently, development of resilient adaptive systems constitutes a major engineering challenge due to a diversity of methods and tools used in the development and a lack of support for efficient information engineering. In this paper, we discuss the challenges engineering resilient adaptive systems. We propose the Problem-Design-Exploration framework as a model of the adaptive service development process and define the key concepts supporting multi-view engineering. Moreover, we discuss the advantages of the Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) as a technology enabling integrated information engineering for resilient adaptive systems.
