Abstract:
This paper proposes a network security scheme in which optical network coders/decoders (codecs) reconfigure signature label codes to enhance system confidentiality for optical multi-protocol label switching (OMPLS) transmissions. In the proposed codec labels reconfiguration, we structure composite signatures from maximal-length sequence (M-sequence) codes to identify both data packet labels and network node codecs. Each core node can dynamically change its signature label to combat eavesdroppers for a reliable data packets routing. The results verify that the proposed approach via signature labels reconfiguration is effective against eavesdropping.
