Abstract:
Reducing energy consumption within buildings has been an active area of research. Energy usage both in commercial and residential buildings represents a significant portion of overall energy consumption. The viability of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technologies can be integrated with Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) in order to reduce energy consumption within buildings. This paper targets the description of a generic architecture and classification of WSN-based BEMS.
