Implementation of a Fully-automated Optimized Fog-computing-based IoT-controlled PV Network

Abstract:
The Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing almost every aspect of our lives. Smart grids are one example of this. Integrating IoT into various fields is a challenging task. In this paper, we present a detailed implementation of a fog-computing-based IoT system for monitoring and controlling a photovoltaic (PV) power network. As a case study, the implemented system is used to facilitate automatic energy routing within two PV systems feeding different loads. Our results demonstrate the ability of our IoT system to efficiently and automatically monitor and control a network of PV systems.
