Encouraging Students to Document Software Development Projects using Blogs

Abstract:
This paper will present an ongoing project to encourage students to document Software Development Projects using Blogs. The use of blogs in the documentation of software development projects is gaining acceptance within the industry itself. As such the use of blogging within the industry will be examined to identify the potential areas of use. The pedagogical issues associated with such a project will be investigated and an attempt made to incorporate these into the student experience. The aim is to increase the student’s engagement with the documentation process by using a medium that is familiar, media rich and gaining acceptance within the industry.
