Abstract:
The aim of this study was to examine what factors affect the acceptance behavior of mobile information communication technologies for learning by students in a MSc Occupational Therapy program in a Canadian university. The study addresses mobile and distance education, specifically, the function of mobile learning in higher education. A self-administrated paper-based survey was created by adapting scales used in previous research based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Our research model was tested using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique. Social Influence was the strongest salient construct for behavioral intention to use mobile information communication technologies for learning, followed by performance expectancy of mobile information and communication technologies. Effort expectancy was not a salient construct for behavioral intention to use these technologies.
