Band-Pass Filters for Direct Sampling Receivers

Abstract:
A robust analytical design procedure for high performance digital equiripple band-pass finite impulse response filters for direct sampling receivers is introduced. The filters are optimal in Chebyshev sense. The underlaying generating function of the equiripple approximation is the Zolotarev polynomial. The closed form solution provides a straightforward evaluation of the filter degree and of the impulse response coefficients from the filter specification. One example is included. The robustness of the design procedure is emphasized.
