Abstract:
The ubiquitous computing vision brings high computational and communication demands. In this paper, we propose a high availability protocol for information replication in ubiquitous computing environments. Running at the application layer, on top of a P2P overlay network based on JXTA, our protocol allows the transfer of multimedia contents automatically generated by multimedia capture systems. We formalize the characteristics of the protocol and present its design rules and procedures.
