Abstract:
The Automatic Multicast Tunneling protocol extends the range of multicast data distribution from a multicast-enabled network region to a network region that supports only unicast routing. Previous work has shown how to achieve access control in network regions that fully support multicast routing. In this paper, we show how to achieve the access control in the extended (unicast-only) network region, without modifying the original interactions of the access control. We also formally validate the security of our solution using the Automated Validation of Internet Security protocols and Applications (AVISPA) tools.
