Abstract:
Adaptive modulation techniques have been widely employed in order to improve the performance of wireless networks. The switching point between neighboring modulations is a key issue to define the performance of an adaptive modulation system. In this paper, we analyze in depth the influence of the fading channel model in the optimum switching points considering the maximum throughput as the criterion to determine the switching points.
