Contextualization of Learning Objects for Self-Paced Learning Environments

Abstract:
The use of learning objects in constructivist learning environments causes a dilemma between reusability and context representation. The extension of current metadata standards with XML-based context resources offers a broad, transparent and efficient representation of the context of learning objects. They are the basis for context aware knowledge acquisition in self-paced learning environments.
