Abstract:
During the recent years, it has been increasingly shown that open and generic system platforms exhibit considerable advantages over closed systems in different areas of security technology. With systems that are flexible and adaptable to emerging demands, it can avoid expensive dedicated solutions becoming useless when requirements change. In this paper, a universal infrastructure is presented. It is shown exemplarily how easy and cost-effective new demands can be met by integrating new software and hardware components. The described architecture is designed to achieve maximum reusability.
