Abstract:
Fabrication method of self-organized silver nanostructures by annealing of thin films is studied. The method has poor reproducibility and generates different shapes and sizes of nanostructures for identical conditions, but in different furnaces. To clarify the source of instability, the self-organized nanostructures were prepared by annealing of silver films with different strength of thermal radiation. The results demonstrate dependence of morphology and reflectance spectra of the samples on power of thermal radiation. Numerical simulations of heating conditions were performed and confirmed effect of thermal radiation on melting of silver nanostructures. The obtained results can be used to control self-organization of silver nanostructures and to improve reproducibility of the fabrication processes.
