A Multiple View Environment for Collaborative Software Comprehension

Abstract:
Collaboration is an important issue for software comprehension activities which are performed in distributed development environments. Several studies have pointed to the relevance of visualization to provide support to these activities. Enriching visual metaphors with awareness elements can enhance collaboration in such environments. This paper presents a multiple view interactive environment to support collaborative software comprehension. A case study was carried out to analyze the effectiveness of the proposed environment considering that awareness elements are visually represented to support the collaborative software comprehension.
