Abstract:
The paper introduces our design of a framework for test automation, which utilizes both recording and scripting approaches to help quality-assurance engineers with their test automation efforts. Characteristic problems of test automation are a low efficiency and/or high maintenance costs. The framework cuts down those drawbacks using a technique of abstraction, a clever structure of test cases, and reusable common test case retrieval from recorded tests. Finally, the approach is robust to a test script ageing and is technology-independent as well as testing-tools independent.
