Abstract:
SPC (Statistical Process Control) was originally developed in the area of manufacturing, to support the implementation of continuous improvement programs in production lines. The use of SPC in process improvement is not new to the industry in general. In the context of software organizations, statistical control can be regarded as a relatively recent subject-area, although there are still many doubts about its application. Thus, this paper focuses on drawing up a curriculum for Statistical Process Control within a Computer Science course. The aim of this initiative is to provide software development organizations with computer science professionals who are fully able to perform this task.
