A Joint Encryption-Compression Technique for Images Based on Beta Chaotic Maps and SPIHT Coding

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a new joint compression encryption system based on Discrete Wavelet Technique (DWT) and Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) coding for the compression part, and the chaotic standard system (Beta Chaotic Map) for the encryption process. Through the experimental results, the system proposed in this paper has an excellent statistical and cryptographic properties: it resists against common cryptanalytic attacks and provides high picture quality of the reconstructed image.
