The digital transformation and the introduction of new technologies are exerting a huge impact on the role and responsibilities of the Technology Executive to support the organization's goals. This study proposes to examine the skills and responsibilities associated with the role of the Technology Executive, systematically reviewing the literature and comparing patterns in the analysis of the profiles and skills for this role. The result shows that the competences of the Technology Executive have undergone a significant change to incorporate skills in different areas, apart from the traditional technical area, which can be categorized into five main groups: Technologist, Strategist, Enabler, Innovator, and Financial.
