Abstract:
A Self-Adaptive Network Coding TCP protocol is proposed for dynamical adaptation of the redundancy factor in the network, including the case of a wireless network. It trims packet loss effectively via redundant packets of network coding. It also adapts certain traffic information, to be stored in the header of TCP or ACK packets, thus enables the sender to dynamically adjust the redundancy factor of the network. Simulation of traffic fluctuation in the real network shows better utilization of communication channels and better throughput by the proposed protocol than TCP-Vegas as well as NC-TCP.
