Rifidi Toolkit: Virtuality for Testing RFID

Abstract:
The Rifidi Toolkit is an open source framework for virtual Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) environments. It allows to emulate RFID devices and can be used as a basis for testing RFID applications. The concept behind the Rifidi Toolkit is already widely adopted in industry and has been accepted in science. This paper gives an introduction on the the toolkit’s architecture and design. It further points out how to use the toolkit for testing RFID applications and proposes new features and functionality needed for robust RFID application testing with the Rifidi Toolkit.
