Link Design for Multi-hop Underwater Optical Wireless Sensor Network

Abstract:
This paper presents a link designed for a multi-hop underwater optical wireless communication system using green/blue Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The proposed system can increase the communication distance using multi-hop communication compared to single hop communication. The suggested system uses very simple and inexpensive hardware to build a cost effective solution. The established link can support a bandwidth up to 100 KHz for a communication range up to 1 meter without using any external optics and without degrading the required signal to noise ratio
