Abstract:
The number of applications used in Intelligent Transportation Systems is growing very quickly. This implies a greater consumption of vehicular network bandwidth hence there could be a high probability of delay of priority requests in this networks. Consequently, an exhaustive control of the bandwidth is needed to provide a Quality of Service according to the demands of certain applications. In this paper, a communications middleware to provide the management of the Quality of Service and prioritize applications’ requests on mobile networks is tested. The proposed system, in order to reduce development efforts, has been addressed only reusing and configuring already implemented and tested GNU/Linux based software utilities, originally designed to be used in non-mobile environments.
