Abstract:
This work aims to introduce an Utility-based approach for Video Service Delivery Optimization (U-VSDO). Through this optimization, a global utility function is calculated based on different constraints. Those constraints are considered based on separate utility function for each actor in video service delivery chain (Content Provider (CP), operator (OP) and Client (CL)). However, each actor has a global score for his vision, the overall optimization aims to satisfy the three actors. Our proposed methodology for this optimization is validated through different types of evaluation. First, a simulation based utility function is done for obtaining the optimal values of our optimization problem. Then, a complete GUI interface is built based on the main parameters for each actor. Finally, a test-bed is conducted to differentiate between two types of flows using open source Software Defined Network (SDN) controller. This part considered the standard use case for ETSI in CDN-as-a-Service.
