Abstract:
This research paper examines the vulnerable security elements that MAC management messages in WiMAX initial network entry faces. The paper proposes an innovative hybrid approach to resolve such vulnerability problem and establish secret communication channels via insecure domains. The proposed protocol is based on Bio-crypto systems and to improve current security level of authentication and Key Exchange between the Subscriber Station SS and the Base Station BS. AES-BDK system is defined as the integration of Advanced Encryption Standard and Biometric Digital Key. Within this integration, AES is used for the encryption process for initial ranging Request/Response messages RNG_REQ/RSP, while BDK generates the secret key.
