Channel Inversion CoMP Technique in Cellular System A User-Selection Algorithm

Abstract:
Network coordination techniques are very promising for improving spectral efficiency over conventional cellular networks limited by inter-cell interference. Thus, Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP) transmission and reception techniques are under consideration for LTE-Advanced to meet 4G requirements. In this work, a coordination technique for intercell interference cancellation is evaluated over a packetized multiuser adaptive OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) system. As a result of our network coordination setup, a new question on which pair of users should be served at each physical resource comes up. A low power user selection algorithm is proposed and evaluated, and its performance is compared to that of random user selection.
