Abstract:
Transportation and mobility are important factors for economics as well as social life. In this context, dynamic carsharing systems gain increasing importance, as they address traffic related problems, like increasing the occupancy rate, and therefore have a positive effect on reducing congestion. In this work, we propose a decentralized architecture and our approach to enhance these services as well as their accessibility with ad hoc location sharing. The system works based on ad hoc communication, various positioning technologies and the users' preferences. Finally, a discussion of the initial results of our prototypical implementation is presented.
