Abstract:
Localization can be an important work step for software development with a considerable impact not only on success, but also on cost and quality. To facilitate localization, a number of tools exist. In particular in the area of computer-assisted translation, data analysis is used to aid in the work of the translator. In this paper, we propose to apply data mining to assist in the localization of software elements beyond text translation, such as colors, symbols and images. In particular, we propose to apply data mining to make the most of available resources on the internet and treat them as distributed databases.
