Formalisms for Use Cases in Ubiquitous Computing
Authors:
Richard Gunstone
Keywords: use cases; software; ubiquitous computing
Abstract:
Use cases have achieved widespread adoption in software requirements capture and representation in software system analysis and design. Ubiquitous Computing, a paradigm attributed to the late Mark Weiser, offers new challenges in the representation of user requirements. Such systems are likely to require a high degree of user-centricity if they are to meet sometimes demanding requirements of the modern computer user. This paper presents a review of relevant use case methodologies, principally those that augment or replace the Unified Modelling Language metamodel for use cases.
