Abstract:
Normalized Systems Theory (NST) aims to create software systems exhibiting a proven degree of evolvability. While its theorems have been formally proven and several applications have been used in practice, no real overview of the typical types or dimensions along which such NST compliant applications can evolve is present. Therefore, this paper presents an NST case within an educational context in which its different variability dimensions are illustrated. Based on this case, a more general overview of 4 variability dimensions for NST applications is proposed: changes regarding the application model, expanders, craftings and technological options.
