GAIA-MLIS: A Maturity Model for Information Security

Abstract:
Strategic management with respect to, protection of assets importance of information security, has been observed by organizations as one of the most valuable assets, as well as physical goods and people. Manage security risk is a difficult task, but to help you succeed, investments in technology support and management should be made. Thus, it is possible to have a system maturity level in information security, whose purpose is to identify strengths and weaknesses processes evaluated in the network. Thus, the GAIA-MLIS model proposed for service providers and allows organizations to analyze what is the level of maturity in information security and how can you level through continuous planning. This proposed model presents a description of maturity levels and goals that organizations and providers of these services must reach out and help in the preparation of building an effective security of information assets.
