A Logic-Based Network Security Zone Modelling Methodology

Abstract:
Network segmentation and security zone modelling is a best practice approach, widely known for minimizing the risks pertaining to the compromise of enterprise networks. In this paper, we propose a security zone modelling methodology, which automates the process of security zone specification using a definite set of formalized rules. It mainly helps to derive network security requirements based on the Clark-Wilson lite formal model. We illustrate our methodology using an example case study of e-commerce enterprise network infrastructure.
