Abstract:
The battery lifetime is the most important issue in a wireless sensor network (WSN). As the battery lifetime is restrictive, it have to maximize. The network communication is the most energy consumption of the battery. Of all sensors, temperature sensor represents a distinct feature which is connectivity of next situations. In this paper, we propose an optimized temperature sensing period (OTSP) for efficient energy consumption. The main ideas of OTSP are to find successive stable section through proposed algorithm and to reduce the wireless temperature network period in stable section. We experimented on OTSP in the rooftop of the building in order to not get the influence of environments. The result of experiment indicates that OTSP reduces the energy consumption and extends the battery lifetime as compared with system without OTSP.
