Dynamic calibration of force sensors using sinusoidal excitations

Abstract:
The primary calibration of force transducers using sinusoidal excitations with electrodynamic shaker systems will be described. First a view comment concerning the importance of dynamic force measurements will be given. That will be followed by a mathematical description of the basics of dynamic measurements based on linear differential equations. Some useful approximations are given to average measured data. The technical equipment will be introduced together with a discussion concerning the traceability as well as the uncertainty consideration. Finally an exemplary calibration performed on a strain gage transducer will be presented.
