Abstract:
We describe the construction and performance eval- uation of a new distributed discrete events simulation (DDES) tool, based on the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) paradigm. This approach allows the utilization of redundant resources in order to withstand failures on the very processing entities in charge of the simulation work. Our results show that the mechanisms supporting dependability are expensive and are only recommended for long-lasting and very processing-demanding simulations.
