Abstract:
In engineering education and training, it is desirable that students develop their own simulators, or inspect the source code, modify it, and design their own functionality based on an existing simulator. Existing commercial and open-source simulator software are not always appropriate for this purpose, given their complexity or their closed-source nature. We propose a simulator that is simple enough to be used for this purpose, while offering powerful features (such as concurrent computation and graphical user interfaces) that make it adequate also for more advanced research work.
