Abstract:
In this paper, the results of a preliminary feasibility study for the development of a sustainable supply chain, for the efficient production of heat and power in Sardinia, will be presented. The study area involved the state forest of Monte Olia, for which the biomass availability estimation for energy purposes has been carried out. The biomass estimate has been performed by comparing the results of three methods, using geomatics to environmental and forestry data. In particular, they provide a spatial prediction of the annual biomass supply and simulate the temporal availability for energy use.
